Hello GRUEN participants!

By now all participants should have enrolled, introduced yourself, and posted in the Unit 1 - EAP Objectives.

The idea in that forum is to identify your favorite innovations and ideas, describe how they relate to objectives 1-3, and then explain how they contribute to a sustainable green urban design.   We're looking for specific ideas and innovations, with pictures and links to websites!

This week we begin Unit 2 - Criteria for judging Green Cities We want you and your teachers / mentors to review the three previous awards used to judge the environmental performance of cities in Asia and the EU: the EU Green Leaf, the EU Green Capital, and the Asian Green City Index.

Based on the different criteria used in these awards, we want you to pick ONE criteria that you think is the MOST important, and then Add a new topic discussion in the forum with that criteria as the subject!   On that post, list the criteria in order, from most important to least.  Finally, write a few sentences to justify your list.   You can have as many or as few criteria as you want.   Finally, look around at other lists proposed, and ask them a question or give them feedback.

The forum is called "Propose YOUR criteria for judging a GRUEN".   We are looking for each student to post 3 times: this should be enough to get some good interactive conversations going!   Based on this forum, we will develop the list of criteria for this GRUEN project, which will be used to judge your green urban designs.

Take a day or two to look at the prior award criteria, and have a think about your proposed criteria.

Which ones are most important to YOU?   Then share your list with everyone on the forum!

Best wishes,
Brant
