News Forum – SDG Asia project – May 18, 2018
Hello SDG Asia project participants!
This is the first course announcement using the News Forum!
Today is the first round of tests of the ability of participants to join the Adobe Connect web conference, with more scheduled for tomorrow!
The link to the meeting room is: https://meet615974094.adobeconnect.com/sdgasia/
Team members can join as individuals from any location, no need to gather as a group on your end.
Each attendee can join as a Guest, and just type in your first name.
I recommend that mobile users use earbud headphones so they can hear clearly and avoid creating a feedback echo when they speak. Using a VOIP headset may also help with laptop and PC audio, as well. Also, since this is your first time, I recommend testing your ability to join at least 15 minutes before the meeting, to give your computer time to download an Flash updates needed for your browser. Mobile users can download the free Adobe Connect app from Android Play Store or the iOS App Store.
Note: the SDG Asia web conference meeting room is always open, so you can test your ability to connect any time!
The planned schedule for team test web conferences is as follows (if your team needs to change to another time, please email me). All times are listed in Hong Kong time, please check your local time to avoid missing the meeting.
Friday May 18
4:15pm – YFEED
5pm – GER community mapping
Saturday May 19
12 noon – Lady Doak Multimedia Ctr
1pm – Diffusion Innovation Waste Management Campaign
3:15pm – Shelter Participatory Organization
The planned agenda for each meeting is as follows:
1 – Work through technical issues connecting to the web conference
2 – Review Introductory Forum posts

4 – Review SDG 7 unit
5 – Discuss Forum participation expectations, set up group areas, first posts
6 – Plan for next web conference about SDG 7: poll for best time (Friday or Saturday, May 25/26)
This workshop has a rainbow of intended outcomes, including giving participants a platform for their vision of a better future, training and assisting them in developing a multimedia essay, and educating them about the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
I encourage every member of all five teams to participate, to engage with the process, and to have fun! As with many things in life, the more you put in, the more you’ll get out!
Best wishes for your success,Brant
