Well, our team is already engaged taking footage as per story line of our video “How political influence and political will can transform into actions towards development”
Luckily, Pakistan at verge of holding General Election 2018 on 25th July , therefore, we have so many political and social activities going on in our selected slum area for SDG ASIA project , we are conducting multiple awareness sessions on SDGs awareness in community people and make them prepare to ask their political leaders for development and accountable for SDG implementation. We are capturing the process and witnessing the emerging movement by the community people
Cheers!
Dear Samreen,
Thank you for sharing those nice shots of you and your team capturing video footage!
Is that Waqas in the second shot?
These shots will also help Johannes document the usage of the camera equipment you rented using KAS funding.
Can any of the other teams also post some shots of themselves in the process of capturing video?
Those "documentary shots", as well as sharing the actual footage via web conference or posting "rushes" to YouTube, help us track your team progress and understand the context of your projects!
Brant
I am glad Brant that you like and satisfied our team progress, we will presenting some raw footage in next web conference, we have capturing some SOT (sound on tap) shoots, random clips, covering community gatherings, we just need few second video, but shooting takes hours! Hope, all our hard work pays off soon!
Cheers!
Samreen
Dear fellows!
As the project come into very practical phase and this part is most favorite of mine! i was capturing some solar panel installation in the field side as we our story line narratives to support alternative method of energy sources. have a look!
best,
Ali
Dear Ali,
It is really amazing to see that the practical side of your project is really moving fast. May I know about the fund raising methods you have followed?
Manju
Dear Mnju!
Thank you so much for your appreciation! we also really enjoying while on field. as far as expenditure of logistics, equipment and other arrangements are concern, our organization SPO is arranging and rented out equipment that later will be submitted to KAS for reimbursement with in pre- defined budget allocation.
other then that, we also mobilize in-kind of resources and opportunities, like we have extensively worked during recent election campaign while taking relevant shoots for our video, therefore we don't need to bother getting people gathered to discuss SDGs in community, again , our organization supported us to mobilize and organize community events, we just captured real images, luckily we got the opportunity which we try to utilize smartly.
cheers
Samreen
Hi Ali,
Very nice shots.
Is the installation of the panel a part of the project of the Shelter Paricipatory Organization?
If so, was it sponsored by someone? or Shelter had fund to do so?
Sorry for being so inquisitive. I was just wonderig about the financial part of it. It would be great if you can clarify my doubts. Thank you.
Maheswari
Thank you so much Maheswari! we glad to define it! The solar panel system has been adopted massively by the community, SPO playing the role of facilitator for raising awareness on alternative energy methods. This is really good initiative that we trying to highlight in our video project! lets see, how we would succeed to portray the story beautifully!
Dear Samreen,
It is inspiring to see you working with Sonahri.
Manju
Dear Manju,
we are collecting relevant shorts as we per-define in story board, as well as we are also try to capture random shoots based on our story, the idea behind that, while we will be setting on editing broad, we have enough stuff to streamline for story narrative.
how is going your team work? have you started shooting , do share and ask freely, if you need any clarification!
Best wishes!
Samreen
Hi Samreen,
Nice to see you in work.
Can you please tell us a little more about the shots?
Thank you.
Maheswari
Dear Maheshwari
As you asked about the shots so before shooting we always line up the shots that we will be needing in the video.
Like if we are working in a slum area than we would be needing the Key Shots like garbage dumping shots, Kids playing around the garbage area. Population affected with the dirt and smoke of the burnt Garbage.
The one Keyword in mind and then shots relevant to the concept.
Tried my best to explain :)
Hope its fine.

Hi Samreen,
Your video does a great job introducing your team members, so I'm sure Johannes was pleased with this production for promotional purposes!
Excellent use of the logos on the opening scene, and very nice framing and lighting of the team members as they articulated some of your key ideas and were introduced.
My feedback as constructive criticism would be that I had a hard time hearing your (Samreen's) lines spoken over the background music, so you may want to lower the volume of the music a bit more when the dialogue is narrative or explanatory. Also, the color of the words "Community Engagement" was a bit low contrast compared to the background for the latter half of the words, so that message may not make it out to your audience.
I liked the use of the repeated slogan at the end: "Getting SDGs down to the ground", which encapsulates the idea of actually implementing the UN SDGs in a way that affects people's lives in your region, and showed the common goal of your team. I also liked the way the music swelled up at the very end, which denotes enthusiasm and a sense of progress.
I'm sure you can use some of this high-quality footage in your project video, so it's a good start on your main production!
Brant
Thank you so much Brant for your appreciation and really constructive feedback, we are all agree what you observed, will definitely get back with improved version. right now, extremely busy with editing and some final shoots taking therefore very difficult to attend webinar, hope you understand and pardon us ! :-), we will definitely looking for mentor ship from your end while doing our main production!
Cheers
Samreen
